Freshly fried churros rolled in cinnamon and sugar, and dipped in warm chocolate sauce. Is it really possible to resist it??
Ingredients
- 220 ml water
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 40 g butter
- 140 g plain white flour
- 2 x eggs
Method
- Carefully pipe the dough into the preheated oil, and fry for 2-3 minutes until golden. Place them on kitchen paper to drain, then toss them in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. Serve with warm chocolate sauce!
- Stir in the eggs one by one until the dough becomes a little looser, but thick enough to hold its shape.
- Put the dough in a piping bag (preferably fitted with a rounded star tip if you have one).
- Fill a pan about halfway up with neutral oil, and heat it to about 180 C. While the oil is heating up, you can mix 50 g sugar and ½ tsp cinnamon on a plate and prepare a tray with some kitchen paper.
- Add water, butter, sugar and salt to a large saucepan, bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Then add the flour little by little while stirring until the dough comes together. Stir for a couple of minutes and transfer the dough to a bowl.
