Chicken Bratwurst with Homemade Potato Salad and Pickled Red Onion

If you follow the weekly menu this dish is part of, you have already made pickled red onions and you can use the feta cheese cream as a base for the potato salad. If you have bread at home, you can use this as sausage bread, or you can make it yourself as the recipe shows. Good luck!

Ingredients

    Hotdog buns:

  • 2 ½ dl plain white flour
  • 1 dl lukewarm water
  • ¼ pack dry yeast
  • 1 pinch salt

    potato salad:

  • 2 x potatoes
  • 1 x green apple
  • 4 tbsp feta cheese cream

    hotdog:

  • 3 x bratwurst of chicken
  • 1 tsp butter

Method

  1. Mix together wheat flour, water, dry yeast and salt. Knead for 10 minutes and leave the dough to rise for about 20 minutes.
  2. Dice the potato and boil to salted water for 10-15 minutes until they are almost tender. I prefer a bit of chewing resistance in the potato when it is to be in potato salad.
  3. Rinse and dice the green apple into pieces.
  4. Mix together cooked potato, green apple and feta cheese cream to a bowl. Set aside to a cold place.
  5. Melt butter to a frying pan and fry the sausages until they have acquired a golden color.
  6. Place the sausages to the bread, add potato salad and top with pickled red onion.
