If you're looking for a fun baking project, try this cinnamon roll recipe! Suitable for all occasions, but especially for someone you want to surprise a little extra! This recipe is made for 18 servings.
Ingredients
- 1 kg plain white flour
- 2 pinch salt
- 1 ½ tsp cardamom
- 1 pack dry yeast
- 1 x eggs
- 240 g butter
- 6 dl milk
- 100 g room temperature butter
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 ½ tsp cinnamon
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp beetroot powder
- 20 g sprinkles
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 180 g sugar
Method
- Mix together wheat flour, 180g sugar, salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, cardamom and yeast in a baking bowl.
- Melt 240g. butter in a saucepan. Push the saucepan to the side and add the milk and eggs.
- When the milk mixture is 34-35 degrees, mix it together with the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough for approx. 15 minutes on low speed with a food processor.
- Put the dough in a warm place to rise for 1.5 hours.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Filling: Mix butter at room temperature with sugar and cinnamon.
- Spread the filling over half the dough and fold the other half over the filling.
- Knead the mass into a rectangle of 30 cm x 50 cm.
- Divide the dough into stripes and roll each outer part towards the middle so that you get a heart.
- Place them on a baking tray and let them rise for 30-45 minutes.
- Roast in the oven at 200 degrees for approx. 10 minutes (depending on the oven)
- Mix icing sugar with food color and add water until you get a suitably thick icing. Decorate with cake sprinkles.
