Halloween Pumpkin Dinner Rolls

Cool pumpkin dinner rolls for Halloween.

Ingredients

  • 150 g butter
  • 950 g plain white flour
  • 5 ½ dl milk
  • 1 x eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 pack dry yeast
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 1 tsp turmeric

Method

  1. Cut the butter into small cubes and leave it at room temperature.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to a bowl and knead for 10 minutes. Add more turmeric if you want more color on the buns.
  3. The milk is added cold.
  4. If the dough appears very sticky, you can add more flour.
  5. Knead in the butter at the end. Little by little at a time. This will take 5-10 minutes.
  6. Cover the dough and let rise until doubled in size.
  7. Weigh parts of 80 grams. Make buns, and tie twine around the bun four times. It is important not to tie too tightly, as the buns will rise, and the pumpkin shape will emerge naturally.
  8. Place in a warm place and leave to rise for about 45 minutes.
  9. The pumpkin balls are baked at 210 degrees in the middle of the oven for about 12-15 minutes. Cool completely before removing the string.
