Lipinja is a type of bread/roll from Bosnia and Herzegovina and is popular all over the Balkans in South East Europe. 4 servings gives 9 bread.
Ingredients
- 3 dl lukewarm water
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 500 g plain white flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ dl milk
- 50 g neutral oil
Method
- Mix water, yeast and sugar together. Stir well and leave it on the kitchen counter for 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 250 degrees celsius, top and bottom heat.
- Pour the dough to a table with flour.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized pieces and shape them into balls. Cover and let them rest for 30 minutes.
- Flatten the rolls with your fingers into a round loaf of approx. 14-15 cm in circumference. Place them on a baking sheet with baking paper on it. Make a grid pattern on top of the bread with a knife. Cover and let them rest again for 10 minutes.
- Bake the loaves in the middle of the oven for 10 minutes. Take them out of the oven and immediately cover with a kitchen towel.
- Serve with desired side dishes.
