One Sweet Dough – 3 Delicious Christmas Cookies!

How wonderful is it to kill three birds with one stone!? You can do that with this recipe! Chess cakes, serina cakes and oat cookies with orange and chocolate? Yes please! One serving makes 36 cakes.

Ingredients

  • 200 g butter
  • 250 g plain white flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 x eggs
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp pearl sugar
  • 1 dl oats
  • ½ x orange
  • 20 g dark chocolate
  • 1 tbsp dutch-process cocoa powder

Method

  1. To a bowl, knead together the butter, wheat flour and sugar. Divide the dough into 3 and put it in the fridge for 1 hour.
  2. Part one: Chess Cookies! Divide the dough in half and add cocoa to one part and vanilla sugar to the other, so you get a brown and a light dough. Divide the dough in half and roll out 4 sausages, about 1 cm thick. Place these one after the other. Divide the dough into 1 cm thick pieces. Place on a tray with baking paper.
  3. Parts 2 and 3 contain eggs and baking powder. Knead the beaten egg and baking powder into the dough and divide the dough in half, so you still have two parts. The dough should be slightly sticky.
  4. With part 2 of the dough, you will make serina cakes. Roll out a sausage, divide the dough into pieces and press the tops of the pieces in granulated sugar so that they stick to the cake. Place on the same tray. (You can optionally use chopped almonds as a topping, but I think it's best with granulated sugar;))
  5. With part 3 of the dough, make oat cookies with orange and chocolate. Rinse the orange peel well. Add oatmeal, grated orange peel (only the orange part of the peel) and chopped dark chocolate to the dough. Divide the dough into equal pieces and place them on the board.
