The World's Easiest Chocolate Cake

The perfect cake for any occasion, super easy to make and keeps fresh for days. The ultimate chocolate cake for both parties and everyday life, which can be varied endlessly. Photo: Henriette Heimdal

Ingredients

    Chocolate cake:

  • 70 g butter
  • 70 g dark chocolate
  • 150 g plain white flour
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 50 g dutch-process cocoa powder
  • 2 x eggs
  • 250 g milk

    chocolate glazing:

  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 30 g butter
  • 3 g salt
  • 70 g 35% fat sour cream
  • 5 x hazelnuts

Method

  1. Chocolate cake: Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.
  2. Line a 20 cm springform tin with baking paper and set aside.
  3. Start by melting the butter.
  4. Add the chocolate, combine and set aside.
  5. Combine all the dry ingredients to a bowl.
  6. Combine the eggs and milk with the chocolate mixture.
  7. Add the dry mixture to the chocolate mixture. Combine.
  8. Pour the batter into the tin and bake in the middle of the oven for 45 minutes.
  9. Chocolate glaze: Melt the chocolate and butter in a water bath. Set aside when everything is melted and cool.
  10. Mix in the sour cream and salt, stir it together.
  11. Place in the fridge and chill until the cake is chilled.
  12. Spread the glaze over the cake and grate hazelnuts over it as decoration.
