Pickled Red Onion

Pickled red onion is suitable as a side dish for so many things. For the burger, grilled food or avocado toast. In the refrigerator, it will have a shelf life of about 2 weeks.


  • 1 x red onion
  • 1 dl water
  • ½ dl sugar
  • ½ dl apple cider vinegar


  1. Peel and slice the red onion.
  2. Boil water, take the pot off the stove and add sugar and apple cider vinegar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a clean glass, add sliced red onion. Pour over the brine and let it cool in the fridge. Can be used already after 30 minutes, but is best the next day.
