Mac & Cheese

If you have leftover pasta, this dish is the way to go. You can also enhance it by adding finely chopped cooked vegetables if you wish.

Ingredients

  • 200 g dried pasta
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 3 tbsp dairy butter
  • 3 tbsp plain white flour
  • 5 dl whole milk
  • 3 handful grated cheese
  • 1 handful shredded parmesan
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 2 pinch black pepper
  • 1 pinch salt

Method

  1. Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the package.
  2. Finely chop the garlic. Melt the butter in a pan and sauté the garlic until it turns soft.
  3. Add the wheat flour and stir-fry for about a minute. Pour in the milk gradually while stirring continuously to create a smooth sauce.
  4. Incorporate the cheese, parmesan, mustard, pepper, and salt. Stir well until the cheese is completely melted. Allow it to simmer for a minute and add a little pasta water if necessary.
  5. Transfer the sauce to an ovenproof dish with the cooked pasta. Optionally, sprinkle breadcrumbs or panko on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.
  6. Serve alongside pan-seared salmon, oven-baked chicken, or a delightful vegetable stew.
