Find cheese scraps in the fridge for this bread saves cheese from ending their lives in the bin! Your soul will thank you if you make this recipe because it tastes so good! Should definitely be eaten fresh and preferably hot!
Ingredients
- 7 dl plain white flour
- 1 pinch sea salt flakes
- 50 g butter
- 4 dl lukewarm water
- ½ pack dry yeast
- 100 g cheese
Method
- Mix wheat flour, oatmeal and flaky salt to a bowl. Add butter and crumble the butter into the flour mixture.
- Measure lukewarm water to a measure cup and add dry yeast. Stir a bit and cover. When there are bubbles on top of the water, it is ready.
- Mix everything together and knead the dough for about ten minutes. Set it aside in a warm place to let the dough rise until double in size.
- Form the dough into a square. Find the cheese you want to use in the fridge. It can be anything from brie to parmesan. Break it up into pieces, grate or crush the cheese between your fingers. Sprinkle the cheese on the dough and fold over the ends towards the middle. Knead the dough a little so the cheese mixes well.
- Form the bread into a round ball and cut 4 times towards the center from the side, but not through. Then you cut small incisions in each part. Use a scissor. Top with some cheese and bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 30 minutes.
