Oven-roasted lamb shank

Ingredients

  • 3 x lamb shank
  • 3 x yellow onion
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 1 x chili
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp seven spices
  • 1 tsp red pepper powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 dl water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees celsius.
  2. Rinse the lamb shanks well with cold water and make some cuts in them.
  3. Slice the union and peel the garlic.
  4. In an ovenproof dish, mix all the spices, onion, garlic and water together. Add the lamb shanks and mix well with the spices and the onion mixture.
  5. Cover the form first with baking sheets then aluminum foil to get the best result. Roast the lamb shanks in the middle of the oven for 2 hours first.
  6. Then you turn the lamb shanks over so that all sides are cooked equally well. Roast the lamb shanks for another hour.
  7. Then remove the foil and paper and continue cooking for another 15 minutes, to get a golden color on the lamb shanks.
  8. Serve with desired side dishes.
