Gratined Onion Soup

Gratined Onion Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 ½ x yellow onion
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 dl dry white wine
  • 5 dl water
  • 1 x vegetable bouillon
  • 1 x slice of bread
  • 1 handful shredded parmesan

Method

  1. Mince the garlic and onion. In a pan with butter, fry together until soft.
  2. Add white wine. If you don't have white wine, you can replace it with beer or dry cider.
  3. Add water and vegetable bouillon.
  4. Let it simmer for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Make croutons. Dice the bread and fry it in olive oil and butter with your favorite spices until golden.
  6. Add the onion soup to an ovenproof soup bowl, add in croutons and top with parmesan. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until the cheese turns golden.
  7. Enjoy!
