Apple Roses

ingredients

  • 1 x apple
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 1 x puff pastry sheet
  • 1 tbsp vanilla custard

method

  1. First, divide the aple into equal-size wedges, before thinly slicing each wedge into several slices. Feel free to use a mandolin or a cheese grater.
  2. Sprinkle the apple slices with sugar and cinnamon, and set aside.
  3. Divide the puff pastry sheets into 5 cm-wide strips. Cover with vanilla custard and place the apple slices in layers so that they overlap. Roll them up and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  4. Bake the roses according to the instructions on the puff pastry package. Cool on a rack.
